GARDEN CITY, KANSAS -- An Onondaga Community College professor was among 32 people injured early Monday morning when an Amtrak train derailed in southwest Kansas. "I'm thankful," Laurel Saiz told syracuse.com | The Post-Standard from a hospital in Kansas. "It could have been worse." Saiz, 61, said she broke her collarbone in the accident and has bruises covering her body. She is hoping to return to Central New York as soon as she can fly home.
